YES – If you are wedding planning, want a wedding video and are considering hiring a drone wedding videographer to shoot at your potential wedding venues, to get that perfect aerial shot or shots, I would say “YES!” The more clients that reach out to me, the more they ask for a drone wedding videographer and if it is available. Can you have aerial footage? YES you can! Central and Northern Arizona offer some of the most diverse and beautiful landscapes I have ever seen. After over 20 years of shooting all over the world, I am still finding great places to shoot right in my own backyard aka Sedona and Northern Arizona. The red rocks never disappoint and the scenery never gets old..

Now, getting drone wedding photography on your wedding day for the bride and groom or couples is a yes but every venue has different rules. If you pick a venue that is not by an airport, the chances are good that you will get the thumbs up from the venue. Even if you’re wedding preparations include a Super 8 videography segment, you can always include drone footage to top it off.
OTHER LOCATIONS – Even if you wind up at a venue that doesn’t allow a drone wedding videographer which is very rare, I am glad to go out and get other iconic shots at a different time to put in your video, so that you still get the landscape of the area you chose. If we have a little extra time, I can take you in our 4×4 jeep with your wedding photographers and drive up to a spot where we can get you kissing on a hill as the sun goes down. Sedona has so many great options for cinematic gold footage. The footage possibilities are almost unlimited. With all the beauty in Sedona, you can almost call me your Destination wedding videographer.

PLENTY OF TIME – My drone is set up for about 60 minutes flight time. Most drone operators carry extra batteries and if you are getting married in Sedona, there is no shortage of great footage to get during your wedding ceremony and reception. If you hire a wedding videographer, drone footage is a great bonus.
INCLUDED – Most drone wedding videographers are flying a drone as part of their package now so you should be able to find a videographer who does that as part of their service. Here at Flicker Shack Wedding Films, we include drone shots with every video because you will love the footage and it helps us get more clients because they see your pretty shots that show off your location choice. It’s a win for everyone to get that drone footage.
I have been filming wedding venues that wind up using this footage to help promote their businesses so including drone wedding video is good for everyone.
A few months back, we did this great shot at Agave of Sedona this Summer where the wedding party and wedding guests got up next to the bride and groom and we zoomed away, revealing Sedona as the bride and groom kissed. Having the drone shot of the full crowd really brought it all together.

As your drone wedding videographer, I capture aerial wedding footage and capture aerial wedding venues in a way that blends everything together seamlessly in your final film/video..
INDIA – I shot my first drone footage in Rishikesh India while working on a documentary on the spiritual journey. I followed a “Guru” halfway around the world and spent two weeks at the base of the Himalayas. It was sunrise and we flew down the Ganga River and under a walking bridge as the sun rose up. To capture aerial footage in such a sacred place was a real treat. The bar of getting good work was set high that day. I am always striving to get better nature shots, with different light, from different angles. It is different every single time.
Growing up in Sedona, I have always had a deep admiration for this place and the different cultures who have been here for probably thousands of years. Drone footage is so much more than a “job” it is the ability to show people and create a deeper sense of expansion. I feel like I might be dipping into Wu wu land but we all sometimes live with this limited perspective of where and who we are. If you can widen out and see a bit more, this allows us to all possibly get in touch with a deeper sense of self. Why? Because through something like a video shot from above, we see that we are a part of a much greater whole.

This is a bit of a sidebar but I feel compelled to send out a simple message if you plan to come visit and or get married in Sedona. This is a sacred place. You may see piles of big hotel chains and rental off road vehicles but under the surface, there is a peace that will only be found if you make time and go out into nature. Don’t take your phone or worry about posting every second of your experience on social media. Go out there to find a deeper layer of yourself. It is out there. The red rocks are made of Quartz and Iron Oxide which means you will be standing on two superconductors of energy. If you are brave enough to take off your shoes and connect to the rocks directly, after about 20-30 minutes, you will feel different. Most folks say that 30 minutes of grounding or “Earthing” is like recharging your battery or drinking a strong cup of coffee without the jitters afterwards.
If you are interested in more of the science and health benefits of grounding, I highly recommend “The Earthing Movie” and its free on youtube:
I know I wandered a bit on this but my clients and I usually wind up connecting on levels that go way beyond just being a wedding videographer who is shooting a wedding video. I am grateful to live where I live and I want folks to feel loved and cared for when they come out here. I believe this life is so much more than a series of business transactions between sleep and work. There is so much more. When you get here, you will understand. Heck, my home is the perfect place to elope to. I’d be more than happy to be your elopement wedding videographer too!
To all of the wedding photographers in Northern Arizona, let us know if we can collaborate.
If you’d like to learn more about us, give us a call! Much Love everyone.
